EMDR for Trauma
Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing
Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an integrative psychotherapy approach, designed to treat trauma and alleviate the symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Past trauma, like childhood neglect, physical or sexual abuse, violence, accidents, and others can block normal cognitive and neurological coping mechanisms in the brain. In turn, the traumatic memories ‘re-emerge’ as intrusive thoughts, feelings, images, and flashbacks.
Find A Resolution
As a trauma release therapist in London, my goal is to help trauma victims find a resolution to past issues and lead a happy, healthy and rewarding life. With the help of EMDR, I can help you explore the cause of your PTSD symptoms in a safe environment and resolve any disturbing memories that may impact your day-to-day functioning.
How Does EMDR Work?
EMDR works by stimulating the left and the right part of the brain as the eyes follow hand movements, while you recall the distressing memories. To make the experience as non-traumatic as possible, I strive to create a safe, friendly environment where your comfort and mental health are of the utmost priority.
Are You Struggling?
Most EMDR therapies provide significant alleviation of PTSD and trauma symptoms after only a few sessions which has made the therapy a recommended first-line treatment for trauma victims. If you’re struggling with intrusive thoughts and perceptions, sleep disturbances, irritability or other trauma-related symptoms, I can help you evolve beyond your past and difficult circumstances and lead a happier, more peaceful and rewarding life.
