The conscious minds primary focus is willpower, motivation, wishes, desires and aspirations. This initiates change but it doesn’t get the job done at a deep level, where it counts. The subconscious can process 40 million nerve impulses per second, the conscious mind a measly 40 nerve impulses per second. That makes the subconscious mind 1 million times more powerful than the conscious mind.

If you want to change anything of significance in your life, and keep finding yourself hitting a brick wall, then you can thank your subconscious mind for thwarting your good intentions. Unless it is running a programme that supports your new desire, then you might as well carry on eating chocolate. Well, it could be worse. However, putting blame aside, your inner mind is doing exactly what it has been programmed to do, obediently without an ounce of discernment.

These powerful downloads started before the age of 7, directing the course of your life, constructively if you had enlightened parents, destructively if your childhood was challenging and difficult. From two to six years old you are predominantly in a theta brain wave state, and this is in fact a deep level of hypnosis, a highly susceptible state for you to absorb your response to life from your parents, culture and community, thus creating your beliefs.

Consequently you live 95 percent of your life led by the beliefs of your subconscious mind, and 70 percent of those are negative (if you’re lucky) and do not support your hearts desire. Children do not express the mature quality of consciousness associated with alpha and beta brain wave states, so you record vast amounts of information, the good, the bad and the ugly. Your life actually becomes a print out of your early subconscious programs.

This is the programming that dictates how you approach health, prosperity and relationships; it is the reason why some people continually look for love in all the wrong places. It is that default setting that causes challenging emotions and keeps you creating the same pattern and attracting the same ‘type’ of individual over and over again, just showing up in a different suit or dress. Your subconscious has no sense of humour, and will continue to run the same software regardless of the distress it causes you, exactly the same as a computer.

The subconscious is primarily an amazing record/playback mechanism that, unlike the conscious mind, expresses little creativity and has no sense of linear time; it is always in the present moment and doesn’t see the future. However it remembers everything without exception, and is responsible for your thoughts, beliefs, emotions, memories, skills, instincts and behaviours.

It is to your advantage to find workable ways in making your subconscious your friend, reprogramming it, enabling you to enhance your life by creating new beliefs that are in alignment with your conscious intent. You do not need to focus on the people that caused your programming in the first place, dragging up all the hurts of the past for effective change to take place.
